Packing it all in and calling it a day

This was the morning in which I wanted to pack it all in and call it a day. Between rushing to beat the clock and dealing with doodies and tummy aches, I could not get my day started fast enough.  You see, I am the lone parent during the morning routine. The engineer gets up before the crack of dawn to go to work, which leaves me corralling two young boys out of bed, into clothes, to the breakfast table and out the door.  Some mornings are a breeze and I feel like Kelly Ripa in her annoyingly perfect Kenmore appliance commercials (“So you can be even more amazing”….shut it).  But today was not one of those days. Did I mention I was also steaming edamame for my son’s Pre-K class and delving out green hats for St. Patrick’s Day. Yep, I sure was.

So, as Mom’s taxi finally pulled back into the office parking garage, it was well past 10am…what a way to start the day which should have been cleared for take off.  Now, only 3 more hours until I hit the road again to pick everyone up. May everyone be blessed with naps and full bellies when I come back around.

The Balance Beam

No matter what the job, balance always seems to be the issue when you have a family or want to have a semblance of a life outside of “work”.  Part-time or shift workers are no exception…I thought this was an interesting read.

Kicking and Screaming…

In addition to chatting on Twitter and Facebook, Libretto Communications has entered the blogosphere.

This is the atmosphere for sharing all things PR/PI-industry related: Social Media trends, Community Engagement news, Client milestones and Company Updates.  There may, on occasion, be a sprinkling of real-life anecdotes from the head of Libretto Communications…being a Small Business-owner and Mother of two young boys, things just happen and stories must be shared.  Who knows, maybe it’ll help the millions of other Moms out there as they are trying to juggle the world and feel the pressure of “having it all” (yikes).

So, sit back, sip that much deserved coffee, and enjoy the ride.
